Carbuncle Anniversary brings over 163,000 YouTube smiles

NYC, by way of Wichita -- Staff couldn't resist this two year old blast from the past.  Aaron's last visit to the Big Apple! and, it wasn't just apples that were 'big'?

Like an untreated wound, YouTube views continue to grow, number one in it's category, providing over 163,000 views since posted back in July 2007.

No truth to the rumor the anonymous movie producer is also working part-time at Discovery Health Channel.

NOTE: For those not aware of this saga's origin and certainly the 'odd' twisted humor associated, MRCA staff infection was discovered after Aaron broke out with sores. The worst of the infection took its toll when the family planned a trip to NYC to visit Les and Matt.  After days of Aaron suppressing the discomfort and Mom and Dad having to depart early, Les and Matt became surrogate parents and care-givers through the dangerous ordeal, capped by an unforgettable scene in a New York City hospital emergency room at two in the morning.  Needless to say, the experience would make the top of the Times Best Seller list.

Dad Survives Surgery!

Wichita -- After at least five years of rolling eyes (mainly my dearest, and the dentist) Dad scheduled and had his last three wisdom teeth extracted yesterday.  All went well in the thirty to forty-five minute surgery.

"WOW, you're done already?", the groggy patient exclaimed as the anesthesia slowly wore off and a strange case of the hiccups began, the surgeon says is a typical after surgery symptom.  "When can I start running (Hicup)", he asked.  Guess who rolled her eyes, as she guided the ol' hiccuping fart to the car to drive him home.

The patient felt good enough to take in a special Summer WSU Symphony concert at the University Thursday evening, which was an experience in of itself.  Concert attendees were especially impressed with the addition of syncopated hiccups coming from the back row, that evidently were never heard before during a performance of Mussorgsky's, Pictures at an Exhibition.  Most times than not, were more in tune than the lower brass or strings.

At this writing, the patient is doing very well, no pain, no swelling.  Hiccups?  They continue off and on.  Hopefully, he won't go for the 68 year Guiness World Record.  Suggestions to lose them are welcome.

Another First Bloom!

Wichtia, KS --  Today the first bloom exploded from the annual kahuna hibiscus plant signifying the beginning of true summer.  Though maybe the near 100 degree temperatures were a good sign that summer had arrived.

No big ceremonies, parades, or elaborate celebrations were planned for the event.

While past years the Hawaiian Gods provided only the traditional yellow blooms, this year it is anticipated that spectators can expect an assortment of colors. (click on the photo to enlarge)

From the Davis Disney Vault

Wichita - Just when you thought there was no WAY Dad had posted all the goofiest photos (pun intended for those of you in la-la land), DFHP Staff hit pay dirt.

This was first trip to Disney World 1999, when digital was just a dream in Fantasyland, and we had to upload a cheesy photo from the web-cams at Magic Kingdom. Yes, Dom..uh that's...Dumb.

Hey, that's what you get when the publisher has time on his hands.

The second photo (of Dad) ended up a poster circulated around the University only photoshopped with a nice big black mustache.

Browser Tips

For now, DFHP recommends using the latest release of Mozilla FireFox.  It is faster, more secure way to surf.
Download (Mozilla) Firefox here:

Google's NEW Browser Chrome is also available.  Google claims their new browser combines a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the web faster, safer, and easier.  Try it here:

http://www.google.com/chrome- we highly recommend all Internet Exploer version-6 (IE-6) users UPGRADE IMMEDIATELY to IE-7 or IE-8 as soon as possible.  ID-6 is now outdated, is less secure and distorts web page functionality.  IE-8 is even a better fix than IE-7.

Webmaster-Meister, personal note: "In the words of an acquaintance of mine sitting on a beach and sipping the juice from an authentic Hawaiian shaved ice snowcone, "if you're still that far behind in browsers (i.e. using IE-6) you deserve to view a crappy page".

You are welcome to download the new IE-7 or IE-8 here:
